Here For You Beyond the Childbirthing Year

Planning to get pregnant? Just looking for a preventive care visit? Although midwives are traditionally associated with pregnancy and birth, we also perform preconception and gynecological wellness exams.

Preconception Care

Let’s discuss ways to maximize your fertility! At this visit, we can review your health history, nutrition, vitamins and supplements, risk factors, and much more. We’ll talk about different methods of general fertility awareness, including several ways to track ovulation. We can draw initial lab work to proactively assess for any issues that could impact your fertility or a healthy pregnancy. You’ll also have plenty of time to ask any questions you may have. When your body is at its healthiest, your baby will have the best possible start to life.

Gynecological Wellness Care

You don’t need to be pregnant to experience the midwifery model of care! We are happy to see you, whether you’re looking for a midwife for your first gynecological wellness visit or just want a routine wellness checkup. With our holistic focus, we’ll do much more than just a physical exam. We may review your health history, talk about nutrition and lifestyle, recommend supplements, discuss family planning or fertility awareness methods, go over any concerns or questions you may have, and so much more. Depending on your specific needs, we can order bloodwork, perform a Pap test, screen for STIs, refer for ultrasound, thermal scanning, or mammogram, or request any other tests you may need. Our visits are designed with your comfort in mind – no paper gowns here! – and we will always perform exams at your pace and only with your consent.

Frequently asked questions

We specialize in low risk care, and can see you for any preventive or low risk visit. If we identify a problem, or if you believe you have a problem, we are happy to refer you to a doctor! Give us a call if you have any questions about your particular situation.

With fertility awareness, you can use your body’s signs and symptoms to track the time periods where you are likely able to get pregnant. There are several different methods of fertility awareness. When used together, they can be used to either prevent or plan pregnancy. We teach many of these different methods if they are of interest to you.

That’s fine! Informed decision-making and informed consent are essential to the Midwives Model of Care. We will never perform an exam without your consent.
